Blackcurrent - Can anyone advise...

Son number 2 has snapped son number 1's young black current bush in half. At the moment the snapped off half is in a glass of water-i have a hope of using it as a cutting (which is something I've never done in my life). Is there anything I can do? Put it in a pot of compost in greenhouse and pray? I feel really upset about it image

    DON'T WORRY, IT TAKES A LOT TO KILL A BLACKCURRANT BUSH. THE BIT IN THE GROUND WILL BE FINE. YOU COULD TRY TO MAKE A CUTTING OF THE OTHER BIT. NOT THE BEST TIME OF YEAR, BUT WORTH A GO.

    STRIP OFF ALL THE LEAVES THAT COME OFF THE BROWN PART. FIND A QUIET, SHADY, FAIRLY MOIST PART OF THE GARDEN WHERE NOBODY WILL BE WANDERING ABOUT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. BUNG THE CUTTING UP TO ALMOST THE TOP OF THE BROWN STEMMED PART LEAVING THE LITTLE BUNCH LF GREENERY ABOVE GROUND.

    KEEP IT WATERED AND HOPE FOR THE BEST.

    THEN ASK SON NUMBER ONE WHAT RETRIBUTION HE WOULD LIKE TO EXACT ON SON NUMBER TWO.image

    Thank you so much! I will give that a try in the morning. I think it upset me more than son number one...
