Anemone Problems

I planted six Anemone Wild Swan 9cm pot plants last week and they appeared fine initially but all have developed black edges on the leaves. I have attached a picture taken under darkness tonight. I think it is clear, but can take one tomorrow in daylight. I'd appreciate any help. Can anyone advise on what is wrong?

I fear i might have over watered them?image

Had any frosts? or cold winds. These were probably grown in very protected conditions. I would have grown these on from 9cm pots before planting out. They're a bit miffy

  • Hi. Thanks for reply.  Not much frost recently but a bit of cold dry windy conditions alright. The seller (Ballyrobert Gardens) directed me to plant them out straight and suggested they had been hardened off, but looks like maybe they were not ready to plant out as you say. Do you think they will recover?

I would lift them and bring them on in pots a big bigger than 9 cm then plant out in June.   Mine are just coming into leaf.

  • Thanks. Got out last night and dug them up. Potted up so hopefully will recover!
