I'd leave it to early May.

I've sowed some cucumbers inside last week and they soon popped up in my propagator. I'm not sure if it's too early, but i'll plant some more Ina month in case these don't really work.

I would say it is definitely too early for pumpkin though, leave that till may.

Too soon, I think. They grow really fast when they get going, so if you manage to get them to germinate (and they need heat for that, so an unheated greenhouse probably isn't warm enough yet) they'll get very leggy before you can get them in the ground. If you're growing them indoors in a polytunnel then it may be OK. Otherwise leave it a month to 6 weeks yet.

  • I agree, leave it a few weeks yet, otherwise they'll be ready to go outdoors before outdoors is ready for them.

I will start to plant cucumber seeds as well as Runner bean seeds in april ready to plant outside in May when the frosts are less likely. I grow runner beans every year and rotate to where they are planted every two years.Last year was the first time I had grown cucumbers from seed as I now have one of those small multi tiered plastic green house. It worked well for me.

    Enjoy
