Advice
I have a tiny garden 20 x 15. I want to plant a genie Magnolia in the lawn and under plant with naturalized bulbs that flower spring and Autumn with a couple of box balls in containers outside the conservatory. I am not sure that the genie Magnolia will look like a specimen tree or just a shrub misplaced from a border. I need an experienced Gardeners advice. What do you think? The garden has to be low maintenance because of health problems.

I'm don't have any magnolias, but Genie grows to about 12-15ft x 5ft which is quite tall for a small garden.
Beautiful as Genie is, maybe a Stellata would be a better fit unless you can keep the Genie pruned.

Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
20 what by 15 what? Feet or metres?

The dream is a proper Magnolia that perhaps even birds could conceivably perch in. If it isn't to be then I will have to think again.
