I work for a small ecology center and we have three turtles and two salamanders to feed. I have recently begun looking up on wormery and am very interested in starting one to feed our critters that we take care of. I am looking at starting a 10 gal one out of totes. But i was curious if that would in the long term produce enough worms to feed each of them a couple every three days or so.

Earthworm populations typically double every 60 to 90 days in the right conditions. Mealworms reproduce at about the same rate but in larger numbers.

Perfect, that should help me estimate the initial population i will need to start with. Thanks for the help.
