What is this spiny plant?

Hi, does anyone know what this evergreen spiky plant is? Thanks

    looks like a prostrate form of juniper. Does it have a very strong scent if you crush a few leaves?

    I have a similar one called blue star.

    Oh really? Juniper? That would be very cool. I don't know about the scent shall try when I am next outside. It does look a lot like juniper Squamata blue carpet. Thank you
