Begonias

Hello, I am a new gardener but keen to learn!

I'd like to plant some begonias in my window boxes. However, I've never planted tubers before. I've read plenty of instructions online and seemingly I should have started this a while ago. What I am wondering is whether, since the frosts have (hopefully!) passed, I can now plant them straight into the window boxes rather than sprouting them indoors first and then transferring them.
