imageimageI have just been planting up 6 boxes in total on my walls in my back yard I wanted to use this method rather than putting up a fence

i have used goldcrest wilma and hebe bushes and rose bushes aswell as various bulbs and grasses thinking that the good rest can be pruned into a hedge  will this work or will I have to transfer into pots at some stage and if so what should I plant instead I have done this for privacy

    You may find that the cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest' will grow too big, and may suffer from drought, so you've set yourself a task there. In theory it's all fine, but roses, too, love loads of food and water in the growing season.

    MAYBE YOU COULD INSTALL ONE OF THOSE DRIP FEED WATERING SYSTEMS?

    I managed to keep a Cupressus macrocarpa Goldcrest in an 18" x 18" container for around 5 years before it started to suffer.  With the amount of watering you'd have to do I can't imagine the timber would last too long either.  

    Are you able to attach posts/batons with trellising to the wall and grow climbers in the ground or larger containers kept on the ground?
