ID Please?

`Hi, I don't know what this plant is and when it needs to be pruned. It is becoming a bit of a mess. I'd appreciate some assistance please. image

    Hi there. I think it is Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Rainbow'. It flowers in the Spring so I would not cut it back now as you will lose this season's flowers. They do not really need any pruning apart from to trim out any diseased shoots or those that are badly placed and crossing. Any necessary pruning should be done after flowering.

    Thanks very much Ladybird. It is indeed a Leucothoe Rainbow. Appreciate you helping me with the ID. I took out a Carex Pendula that was crowding it and it is a bit ragged as a result. I will give it a small tidy up after flowering!
