Tree for corner?

I recently removed a pesky Bougainvillea from this corner (see picture) on the concrete patio, east of the house. where I have a wood gate that leads to the front yard.

I would like to plant a small tree or shrub that does not have a lot of lower branches but grow over (taller) than the gate (6feet) so it can provide shade and decoration.Something that does not have deep, big difficult roots. I live in Miami, FL.

What are good options?

Thanks, image

UNFORTUNATELY, MOST OF US HERE ARE IN UK AND WOULD GIVE OUR EYE TEETH FOR A BOUGAINVILLEA. image

    NOBODY FROM FLORIDA SADLY.

SORRY, THE SUGGESTION OF AN ORANGE TREE WAS RATHER FACETIOUS. FLORIDA AND ORANGES AND ALL THAT.image

MAYBE A LOCAL GARDEN CENTRE CAN TELL YOU ALL ABOUT ORANGE TREE ROOTS AND THE DIFFERENT POSSIBLE ROOTSTOCKS AVAILABLE (WHICH WILL DETERMINE THE ULTIMATE HEIGHT AND SPREAD OF THE TREE) OR MAYBE EVEN SUGGEST SOMETHING ELSE ALTOGETHER.

I HAVE A CALAMONDIN WHICH GROWS IN MY CONSERVATORY IN A POT AND IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE TRYING TO MAKE A BID FOR WORLD DOMINATION. THE ROOTS ARE QUITE FIBROUS AND NON INVASIVE. MAYBE SWEET ORANGES ARE SIMILAR.

    HAPPY GARDENING.image

Amelanchia. It is  full of delicate white blooms April May here in the UK.  I have a hedge of it in my front garden .  I stand outside admiring mine.  .

AgostoMortal  There is no reason for you not to stay on this one as well . Some of our the plant growing climate advice might be rather different. But plants are plants.  image
