Snopdrops

Jenna3Jenna3 Posts: 1

We are wanting some snowdrops in small pots for our wedding 11th Feb 2018. What is the best variety to choose and how is best to do it? Should we get some now and try to cultivate them so we have more next year if so which variety is best? Or should we put bulbs in small pots in autumn ready for flowering in Feb?

Any tips would be great!

now is the time to get them started. Dry bulbs bought in autumn sometimes do OK but mostly not. They don't like drying out.

As for variety, I would choose G. nivalis, it is the commonest and it multiplies well.

  • Agree.  And, get them 'in the green', mid- late January. Keep some outside and some indoors, to guarantee a spread of flowering times.
