String of pearls dying

Hi, I have been having a lot of trouble with my string of pearls plant. My boyfriend bought it for me October 2016.

It used to be very full and healthy looking, but now the strands are diminishing and drying up. And it seems like the stems are drying up at the base near the root but then halfway down the stem is green again if that makes sense. I don't know what is wrong with it. I have it in Bonsai Jack succulent/cactus soil.

If anyone knows how to save it I would really appreciate any advice

    THREE POSSIBILITIES.

TOO COLD AT NIGHT WITH COLD AIR FALLING ONTO IT FROM THE WINDOW OR

    TOO WET OR

    TOO DRY (UNLIKELY).

I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU INSURE AGAINST LOSING IT BY TAKING SOME CUTTINGS. HERE IS A WEBSITE WHICH SHOWS YOU HOW TO DO THAT.

    http://www.desertplantsofavalon.com/how-to-propagate-the-string-of-pearls-plant-senecio-rowleyanus/

AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE IT ALSO TELLS YOU HOW TO CARE FOR THE MAIN PLANT. FOR EXAMPLE, IT SAYS TO ONLY WATER IT ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH IN WINTER.

    GOOD LUCK.

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
