If you are going to extend you front car parking area, unless you use shingle or permeable surface ie the grid you grow grass through, you have to have various permisions. If you are lucky, you can use permitted developement rights, local authorities rules vary slightly but central goverment says no paving over 5 sq mt without planning consent (unless as previously stated) I had this "arguement" in our last house, where we were putting exactly the same area, replacing an old broken concrete drive, they said that didnt matter. I asked how does getting planning permision stop the surface water problem then!! Plus most of the new developements around here have tarmac drives. I know some people do it without, but you get problems when you come to sell if you dont have the correct paperwork and certificates, AND one of our neighbours was forced to remove his. Not much to add to the other comments I would make the patio bigger than you hink you need, then you can use it and have BBQs even when the grass is wet. Low maintanance, small shrubs that dont need too much looking after.
This is what the garden now looks like but I have changed the green fence to something you can't actually see through! Looking at adding small box edging all round the patio and hanging string lights around it then to add plants in Pots ect. Any ideas suggestion s welcome
Also the 2 trees in the first pictures I have cut down and the rectangular section at side of the gate I have gone 2 high with the sleepers which will be a slightly raised flower bed i think !
Good quality fence panels usually last ten years and concrete posts in my experience are pretty indestructible. Not pretty I grant you but could be painted black to blend in better. The vertical fencing panels last longer I believe.
