Tilia petiolaris

I have been looking for Tilia petiolaris seeds for MONTHS and it seems virtually impossible to find them. I am from ohio and I recently did an internship in the U. K. I fell in love with this tree and have been searching for these seeds without any luck at all. Can anyone tell me where I can acquire these seeds from? I have contacted almost every online nursery and seed store I have come across. Please help!

I know this as  Tilia tomentosa 'Petiolaris', which suggests a cultivar to me and maybe grafting needed, but not a plant I know first hand.

I had a look at the RHS website and it seems to have even more synonyms,

weeping trees rarely (if ever) seed to weeping trees, the weepyness is a sport and reproduced by grafting

  • Wiki indicates that the weeping form is sterile and thought to be a hybrid.

  • Thank you everyone. After calling more companies and doing more searches, it is in fact a tree that is a cross hybrid. So with that being said, if anyone knows where I could buy one in the USA or a company in the U. K. that ships to the USA please let me know.
