    Another big talent gone image

Not my sort of music but you couldn't ignore the skill with which he wrote and performed

I remember his interview on Desert Island Discs - so revealing and so sad.

Dovefromabove. Yes you're right, he was. I've got a few of his solo albums. But the voice was amazing.image

So very sad to loose such a great talent so young.

    RIP George

Another legand gone to young image I always remember his music playing on the radio at high school, RIP George image

  • This year has seen many famous people depart this world, and the end of the year seems to follow the pattern.

That said, I have to confess that, when a commentator on the radio said that everyone would know this chap, I really, hand on heart, wouldn't have recognised him if he had walked through the door.  And I find it really, really hard to think of a duo as a "band".

    OK - I'm old, grumpy and I'll get me coat .  .  .  .  .
