How to sort out late lavender?

lb191lb191 Posts: 80

Hi,

I bought 60 or so lavender plugs and filled a border with them in late summer.

They are currently upto 30x30cm in size and in full bloom with upto 8 flowers per plant. They've been like that for a few weeks now and the flowers aren't dying back.

What should I do with them?

I've tried following pruning guides before for the odd plant referring to wood etc but they always fail the next year so I'm nervous of killing off the whole bed.

Thanks

Too late to prune now, prune in Spring.

How can you lie there and think of England

Soon as you see some new growth in the spring, give them a trim.
I think you're already aware not to cut back into the old wood unless there are some fresh shoots growing below the cut.
