    Hope you get a chance to try and learn the lingo @Liriodendron. I often wonder how close Irish and Scottish Gaelic really are, but I've never looked into it. I know many hillwalkers just pronounce the names by the way they look, rather than using the correct  pronounciation. Buachaille Etive Mor is a good example - everyone calls it the Big Bookil.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
