I DON'T HAVE AN OLIVE TREE BUT I WOULD GUESS THAT THEY WOULD BENEFIT FROM HAVING ALL THE TWIGGY BITS AND PIECES REMOVED FROM THE CENTRE OF THE BUSH TO LET AIR AND LIGHT IN.

AS WITH APPLES, PEARS, PLUMS AND SO ON, THE AIM IS TO MAKE THE TREE ADOPT THE SHAPE OF A WINE GLASS WITH FOUR OR FIVE MAIN UPWARD POINTING BRANCHES AND SIDE SHOOTS COMING OFF THEM FACING OUTWARDS TOWARDS THE LIGHT.

What are they actually growing in? If they are in pots it could be that they are pot bound but I do agree with pf about the pruning.

  • Yes they are in pots and i think they are pot bound so will need to put them into something bigger, can i prune them back quite hard as they look abit leggy

THE GIST OF WHAT THEY SEEM TO NEED IS COVERED QUITE NICELY IN THIS

THEY SOUND REMARKABLY LIKE APPLE TREES.
