Grass suggestion please

AngieRAngieR Posts: 347

I am planning ahead for some pond side/nearby border spring planting and would like to include some Carex testacea (seen in attached image behind Geum) into my scheme.

The colouring/habit/height is exactly what I am looking for. However, doing some research on propagating my existing plant I am reading that it will not tolerate too much wet.  It currently grows in a more elevated position so no issue at present.

Can anyone suggest an alternative that may cope pondside/nearby and be hardy here in Scotland.  Evergreen for winter structure is also a must. Thanks in advance.

Thank you Verdun.  That's exactly the suggestion I was hoping for image

More chance than choice nutcutlet, as is often the case in my garden!  That particular Geum is one of my favourites.

Blues?  Verdun you are a mind reader!  I've been trawling the net for a nice blue hardy geranium. Anchusas are not something I am familiar with.  Will look those up.
