Orchid

Hi there everyone. I have 2 orchids that are doing very well in my kitchen apart from the fact that the roots are coming through the bottom of the pots. One is in repeat flowering mode ,the other 2 new stems appearing.  I have the orchid potting mix. I wouldn't have thought it would really harm them as long as your gentle but by the same token don't want to ruin them either.

We only moved a year ago to Chesterfield, Derbyshire and am so pleased they are repeat flowering as I never achieved that where I lived before.

Would appreciate any advice.

Hi Julie. If you are moving them into larger pots then just cut away the old pot to avoid any damage to the Orchid. I should imagine you have the Moth Orchids or Phalaenopsis which are the easiest to grow. Always use rain water kept indoors so that it is the same temperature as the house. Mine are about 10 years old now.
