building a cold frame

I am in the process of raising my 8' x 6' aluminium greenhouse on 3 courses of concrete blocks to give more headroom and light. I'm also taking the opportunity to build a coldframe off one side of it.

I am wondering if it would be prudent, before the main walls get finished, to make a slot vent in the long wall between the frame and the greenhouse. I have seen this in many old glasshouse ranges, presumably to get the benefit of heat from the house into the frames, but as my house will not be heated I wonder if it would be any benefit?

I think it would be best to just avoid making work for yourself. Forget about the vent. Sounds like a great project Steve. Good luck with that.
