Please help identify my plants.

Hello everyone.

I am a newbie on this forum hoping to get help on identifying some new plants i am growing.

The label said Petunias however looking online the leaves don't look like it. They have grown leaves as a butterfly type shape and perhaps a flower or something is growing in the middle?

Please view the picture attached.

Can't help but quite often the first pair of leaves from the seed don't resemble the final leaves.

Hello and welcome to the forum sunplantlife. It will be easier to identify the seedlings once the first true leaves appear - those are just the first or seed leaves. I do have to ask why you have planted these seeds now when we are approaching Winter and Petunias would be best planted in the Spring. You will have to keep the Petunias somewhere warm for the whole of the Winter as they will not survive otherwise.

  • Thank you for your quick reply and advice.

I will wait and see how they grow and update the forum at a later stage.

  • They don't much look like petunias do they.  Not much you can do other than wait and see what they turn into, well, other than try to get a refund.

Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

  • Hello Ladybird4,

Thank you for the reply and advice.

(Mum actually ask me the same!) Everyone prob thinks i am a rite wally now haha

I purchased a Stewart electric propagator on Amazon for the purpose of attempting to grow Bonsais, purchased seeds online. I am also growing Holy Basil plants (also known as Holy Tulsi Plants, they bring good health/luck to homes, traditional Indian/Hindu plant) growing really well! Happy me!

The Bonsai seeds i have put in the fridge for Stratification for few months.

The Petunia seeds were sent by the bonsai seed supplier for free and labelled Mystical Gift Petunias..

Back to your question.. i could not wait to grow something and decided to grow these in the propagator ? will keep them indoor or hand them out once grown.

Same as Kitty, looks like Morning Glory.

Edit to add, not sure I would risk them, does bindweed start that way too?
