Crocus bulb ID

I bought a mixed bag of crocus bulbs. Some have darker rings around them.

Does this give any indication as to the colour of the flower?

I find that the tendency is for darker bulbs and corms to produce darker flowers - eg. deep chestnut-coloured tulip bulbs are more likely to produce deep red tulips than paler ones - but there's no guarantee as far as I know.

However, if I wanted deep purple crocuses mainly in one area, I'd plant the darker corms there and cross my fingers. image

I tend to sort mixed tulips the same way. It doesn't always work though, so for pots I buy single colours.
