foxglove seedlings

When should I plant out new foxglove plants?                            I have grown them in pots from seed this summer, so they should flower next year.                                                     Should I plant them out now or wait until Spring?

I would get them in now while the soil is warm.  They will carry on growing. In a pot they are likely to be rootbound by now and will slow down.

In good conditions they will do better outdoors but if you have heavy soil or a very challenging climate keep some in big pots in a coldframe. Last year we had serious waterlogging and my indoor plants did much better than their outdoor siblings. They went out in spring and romped away.

  • Thanks. I'll get them in PDQ.
