i have recently aquired a small holiday home and garden on greek island With old roses that need a good prune can i prune now before the winter ? I wont be here again till next may Shall i leave it till then ?
Assuming you will be frost free, I woud do it now and then give them a very thorough watering followed by a mulch of good garden compost or well-rotted manure or good potting compost if you can't get the others. That way they'll be ready for healthy new growth and well fed for producing flowers.
