I have just filled my new (6' x 6') raised bed with new soil from my garden centre. It came in 30l bags and looks dark and fertile, but I think it needs more nourishment. Should I add worms, and perhaps manure?
Thanks all for your responses to my worm issues! I have put a membrane at the bottom of the bed, so they might not come in so readily... I'm planning on alpines, plus bergenia and some grasses. Should be OK?

WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING ON PLANTING IN IT? NOT EVERY PLANT DOES WELL IN RICH SOIL.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
What's underneath the new soil?
I have done the sums on my now bordered flower beds and I think I will need at least two cubic metres of soil.
I have quite a lot of my home made garden compost which is full of worms. I think adding that would help, build yourself a worm "farm".
'You must have some bread with it me duck!'
Worms will find their way naturally.
'Build it and they will come'
Unless there's a big thick layer of hardcore or some such underneath. Hence my question
B3 - I was trying to avoid saying that

They'll arrive ... don't you worry
