Japanese Anemone

Some questions regarding Anemone Japonica

1. Can you divide and transplant in autumn? It was planted front of border but now is about 1m tall and I want to move it back.

2. Do you deadhead, or chop off the spent flower stalks down to the leaves? Does that increase the flowering season?

thanks

In my experience, you 'll never kill it. image I mean that in a good way.

They pop up from just about every bit of root you leave behind. I'd move it now if it's in the way.

  • Thanks. Should I chop it down to a few inches above ground to help recovery or leave it as is? After flowering it is straggly anyway and I am tempted to give it a haircut.
