Beech nut shells
This is my first post - I'm new to gardening but I'm completely hooked.
There are tons of beech nut shells on my drive right now, and I'm wondering what is the best thing to do with them. Can they be used as a mulch? Or should they be added to the compost heap? Any ideas gratefully received.

Great for a mulch and as slug deterrent around susceptible plants. They'll take a while to compost, but they're fine to use.
