Is it normal

For the leaves on cuttings to wilt?

  • What are the cuttings taken from?  Normally, you should remove at least half of the leaves from cuttings and I usually leave just two or three to keep it alive while the roots form.  Plants lose most of their water through the leaves (called transpiration) and without roots to bring in more water, cuttings will die.See here:

    The example plant is a tomato but the same applies to anything with leaves.
