Crocosmia Lucifer
in Plants
I was looking for some Crocosmia Lucifer corms at the GC recently but none were on display. Is it the wrong time of year to plant these - do I need to wait until early Spring?

They are in growth at the moment so corms will not be available for a while. They are also sold as growing plants in garden centres when they are in flower in mid summer. You can also get growing plants from nurseries if you search online, and plant them now.
I will have to take a look at some of the neighbours' gardens Verdun - that is how I managed to get hold of the Monbretia (orange flower) which is growing well in a sunken pot in our flower bed. If not I will look for them at the GC Alan - thanks.
Shame your so far away from me! I've got some I'm pulling up soon.
Ours was given to us by a friend too...now it's a huge clump and one of the main features of the garden in summer. I didn't realise it was the done thing to pass it on via friends, come to think of it, a lot of people have asked me for some and maybe I need to do some divying up lol.
If anyone wants to send me some of the dried corms when the time is right - I would be pleased to accept, otherwise I will go on a mooch around the neighbourhood.
