Heather Gracillis and bees

Are bees attracted to heathers? I have just planted an Erica Gracillis and am hoping that the bees will be attracted to the lovely flowers.

  • The natives are better. E. gracilis is South African and I can find no reference to it bee-ing useful like the native species, E. tetralix and E. cinerea.

  • Oh that's a pity Hortum - I didn't realize that gracillis wasn't a native plant - if only the GC or the plant labels would give us this information.

i have recently planted these and googled them and said not attractive to bees :/

  • There are some ways to attract bees to your garden, which include: avoiding pesticides, using the right plants, growing plants year-round, setting up a bee house, place wood piles in your garden. You can try one of them, they are really useful.
