Another id please

Anyone know what this is please? I have lots of it in my garden and not sure if i really like it! Does it self seed alot or does it behave itsel?

    I don't know what it is but it looks like a grass of some sort,it might spread with runners as well as seed.It doesn't look very nice,i myself would get rid of it.image

    It's a cyperus, possibly Cyperus eragrostis. If you have lots of it in your garden that probably answers the second question, though it doesn't seed much here, I lost it and had to re-introduce it. I think it's too dry in my garden, most of the successful ones are in the damper areas.

    Yours looks a bit dry and yellow as well

  • Nutcutlet's spot on. Definitely cyperus eragrostis. Stately plant and, if well watered, stays lush and green rather than that starved yellowed look.

    Not the happiest plant I've ever seen!!   I'd be inclined to cut back hard, feed lightly (more in Spring) as you don't need soft growth now, give it a mulch and start treating with love when it begins to shoot in Spring.

    I'd be inclined to get rid before those seeds get scattered.  It will sprout up all over the place if you let it.

  • Ok thank you ill give them a good chop now and keep them for next year and hopefully ill love them a little more
