can anyone ID this shrub? It's taller than me, pollinators arent' too fussed about the flowers and it's only produced berries once.

Thanks! Up to 4 metres tall and 4 metres spread - it's defninitely for the chop, much as it's a magnificent plant.
Hmm, why not coppice it?
It responds well to that treatment, you get all the benefit of the wonderful foliage and yet you can keep it to a reasonable size. That's what I would do.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I agree with Dove - better to coppice it than lose it completely!
