Long grasses for screening

My garden's border with our neighbour is very open with only post and rail fencing in place. I want to put some screening in place which is around 4 foot high, although it could be higher.

I've been told tall grasses are great for this, but when I look online it seems most grasses need to be cut back once a year, meaning they would only provide around 9 months of coverage each year.

Does anyone know of any grasses or sedges which would provide year round screening?

Any suggestions very gratefully recieved.

Clumping bamboo would suit (careful not to get the rampant varieties). You never have to cut them back.
