This beautiful weed has been flowering outside our front door since early summer. Just 1flower blooms at a time and it's nocturnal, from 8pm until midday the next day. Little fragrance. Looks similar to Evening Primrose but the foliage doesn't match. I'm so glad I didn't pull it up in the spring as it's been lovely.

start with the camera icon and don't try and upload to large a photo. It won't load but doesn't give a clue as to why. I reduce my pics to 30%

I think you were right about it being one of the "evening primroses" Not sure which one though.

The flower looks just like Evening Primrose doesn't it but the leaves don't. They're much more individual and spaced along the stem. Perhaps it's a different variety as Hostafan 1 suggested.
