These plants are both growing next to each other in an open, sunny, west-facing position in a neighbouring garden.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Angie

The flowers on the red ones remind me of a heuchera I have, can't see any leaves in the photo to be certain it's the same kind of plant though.

the stems on the red one look like heuchera as well. we do need some leavesimage

    Hi everybody,

Thank you all for taking the time to respond.  Thanks to your suggestions I've had a look online and I think it may well be Heuchera, perhaps Firefly.  The only thing against it being this plant though is that having looked at the RHS website apparently it flowers early summer, but this has been flowering since April and is still flowering now.

As suggested by nutcutlet I've attached a new photo showing the leaves.

    Thanks again,

the leaves at the front are heuchera.

That's a heuchera, the plants don't always read the book of rulesimage

The blue one has flowers like a lithodora or lithospermum, but the leaves don't look right.

Is the blue one a 'now' photo Angie?

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Perhaps I will take another photo when it next flowers and make sure I get a better shot of the leaves.  The area it is growing in is only occasionally maintained so it is fairly wild and densely planted.  I might take a photo of the wrong plant if I take it now.

Nutcutlet: All of the originally posted photos were taken 9th May, and the blue one is no longer flowering.

    Ok

    I reckon that's Buglossoides purpurocaerulea.

nutcutlet: Ive had a look at your suggested plant on RHS and all the information seems to fit with this being the correct one.  I had a look too at various pictures and it seems like a very good match.

I don't know how you all do it but thank you all very much.
