I am growing a lemon tree from a very special pip. The seedling is now 10 inches high and looks very healthy. Do I just leave it growing or take the growing tip out at some point. If so, when?
Not something I've ever grown Irene, but I'd hazard a guess that if you pinch out the growing tip it will stop getting taller and begin to grow bushier.
Hope someone with citrus growing experience can offer better advice.
Thank you all for your very good advice. Philippa's sounds like the way to go. At the moment it is on a windowsill in the morning sun in a fairly cool room so I will have to gradually acclimatise it to outside on warm days and then to a cool greenhouse

Depends if you want a lemon bush or tree. If the latter I wuld let it grow taller.
My shop bought 'tree' is more of a bush but that it is easier to move to a more sheltered location in the winter.
