Please could anyone tell me what this caterpillar will become, thanks, spotted in garden.
It looks like Croesus septentrionalis – Hazel or Birch Sawfly.
Sawfly -that doesn't sound good?
If that is the correct ID then there could be many more nearby as they are gregarious, although they shouldn't do any serious damage to whatever they are feeding on.
