Moving a peony
in Plants
We have a wonderful huge peony that was in a little mound of very poor soil at the front of our house when we moved in. It seems very happy and flowers prolifically every year. However, we need to get out front door replaced and drive done as its falling to bits and this will mean either loosing the peony or moving it for the duration of the works and returning it to the front of the house after. There is no space for it elsewhere. My questions are:
what is the best time to do this?
How do we do it?
Can we keep it in a pot while the work is done or will this kill it?
What is the best way to re plant it afterwards?
Thank you so much to anyone that can advise us it would be a huge shame to loose such a wonderful plant!
