(Beginner Q) Help identify this plant
Hello.
Please could you help a beginner gardener identify this plant? I grew it from a cutting taken on May 2015 and I feel it needs to get out of its pot and be grown outside, but I need to know what soil, drainage and sunlight conditions it enjoys before I can prepare the area it will go in.
Its stem has a sweet smell when the growth is fairly young, then going drier and more "wood-like" after a few months or so. The plant also seems to respond well to sunlight.
The plant is very important to me and carries a great deal of sentimental value, so I want to make sure that I don't do this wrong!
The plants leaves are starting to go brown and twisty, and given I don't know what plant it is, I can't identify what could be causing this. Again any help any experienced gardeners can provide (particularly if you own this plant yourself and have grown it successfully) would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

it looks like a Ribes, flowering currant, Grows anywhere except in a bog.
Get it in a bigger pot and outside for a start, tomorrow.. The root size at the moment is very small and constricted and might struggle to survive if planted into soil now.
Leaves are brown and twisty because it's struggling to survive in too small a pot in an alien environment. all things considered it doesn't look too bad
