Clematis "Freckles" in flower so early??
in Plants
This plant is in a fairly sheltered courtyard, so it is spared the worst of any wild weather. [Snails obviously like the favourable conditions too!].

My 'Freckles' has been flowering on and off almost all year
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Great picture, great plant.
Thanks for your comments AYM, DoveFA & RichardH: I've had the plant for about 5 years now - I just leave it alone & it seems happy to 'romp' around the shady side of the yard using several very large potted shrubs for support - myrtle, griselinia, phormium, azalea, verbena etc...Btw: I've noticed that the similarly located Jasmine is also beginning to flower for the second time this year (spring to early summer is more usual, I believe??).
