Runner beans

Hi apart from some black fly the leaves look relatively ok. Some yellowy ones as if they need water.  The runner beans do not have spots on them however, they are getting a purple, slight light brown colour along the sides where you would string them. On a few beans the colour is creeping onto the whole bean but only very lightly.  Please can you help me as I don't want to use them if they are diseased   I can send a photo to you

mother than that I was really pleased to see a lot of flowers and then beans

It's normal and happens to older pods.  Ideally, you would pick them before they start to get any purple on them as the older the pod the more stringy it will be.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
