Lawns
I recently started mowing a neighbour's lawn but it has developed dead patches that look like weed killer has been applied. I don't do anything different to my own lawn which is green and healthy. My neighbour has suggested I am responsible but I am not sure how. Any ideas?

No good deed goes unpunished!
If you could post a picture using the camera icon top right of the text box it'll maybe help identify the problem. Could it possibly be leatherjacket damage? I have loads of leatherjackets at the moment.
DOES YOUR NEIGHBOUR HAVE A DOGGIE?
IF SO, GOOGLE "DOG URINE BURNS ON LAWNS" AND SEE IF THEY LOOK FAMILIAR.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
Tell the bl***y neighbour to do it themselves...
Some people are very ungrateful
I'd agree with pansyface and pp - those are the two most likely explanations. Leatherjackets, at this time of year, in particular.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Good point re the weedkiller Verd.
What's that phrase - 'you can please some of the people some of the time'....
I also have some little yellow patches, but I think it's mainly due to lack of water as I made sure the new lawn had loads of free draining soil to counteract our plentiful rainfall. Ironically, it's been quite dry here this summer!

Good point Verd. Check in the middle of the patch Angela and see if there's the remains of a weed. The spray bottles cover quite a big circle depending on how close you spray.
Very true pp. I was very lazy earlier this year and picked up the wrong bottle to treat some dandelions in the lawn (used the one meant for paths by mistake
).
The bald patches are starting to fill in slowly but surely and I'll reseed in the autumn.
Nobody's fault but mine, stoopid and lazy Kitty
Blame the dog slothy style.
