Rhododendron (Blue Silver)

I have a potted Rhodendron which I planted around April time. It was flowering when planted, however, is now looking a bit worse for wear - no leaves, just brown branches (see pictire attached).

Can someone tell me if this plant is dying/dead, and the best course of action to take. Thanks for your help, Sara image

    Hi Sara. Sadly I have to say that I think your Rhododendron is dead. So sorry.

    I feared as much, but felt it was worth getting a second opinion ?

    Never grown a Rhodendron in a pot before, didn't realise re. the acid compost needs etc.

    At least I will know for another time ?
