Identify this plant/fruit/nut

Keith67Keith67 Posts: 5

Hi

Can anyone help in identifying this one?

It is a climber and is growing next to a grape vine.

The 'fruits' are about 3 inches (7.5cm) and slightly furry and quite hard, at the moment.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks

  • I think it's wisteria.  They usually look like fuzzy runner bean pods but it would appear that only one of the flowers on the raceme actually set seed, rather than lots of them.

    Hi Keith

Those are the fruits of a Wisteria. I think those may be Wisteria leaves too. It must be a very well established Wisteria to produce seed pods after flowering.

    Definitely a wisteria.

Many thanks to all who have replied.

We have a Wisteria!  Checked out the pics on Google after your posts, and the pods match exactly.

    Thanks again. Keith
