Hi all, Is this Konjac?  I have one plant; it flowers towards the end of June after being in bud for ages.  The plant's about 3 feet tall, with a single bud that then flowers for about a week before slowing dying off.  The flower's about 6 inches long.  I was told it was more commonly known as Japanese lily, but that looks wrong after doing some research.  All info gratefully received.

Many thanks, Emma

looks like Dracunculus vulgaris to me.

You mean Amorphophallus 'Konjak'? that's more upright, more substantial, different leaves and less reliably hardy in the UK

    Hi nutcutlet,

Thanks for the info; I did mean Amorphophallus Konjak.  I wasn't convinced about the leaves either.  Do you know how easily available they are to buy, or how to cultivate them? A friend of mine wants one after seeing mine!  I have no idea where I got mine - my husband is a gardener and removed it from a customer's garden because they didn't like it!

    Nice colour. Does it stink?

It's even better in real life. It doesn't smell at all - nice or horrid.

Interesting, both those two plants stink. But not for long
