Japanese Anemone propagation

LieLie Posts: 39

Hi everyone,

I am planning on having more of the same plants to create more effect - beginners mistake - especially in a small garden.

Anemone propagation apparently is best done via root cutting..but when is the earliest i can start? online I am finding different advice. What do you think?

Thanks!

Division is the easiest way to propagate Japanese Anemones.

Root cutting can also be done, usually in Winter.

I have two plants...which have been in the ground since september 2015. This is their first main summer. Is it too early to split in half?

    Depends how big they are.

Still depends on how big they are. I have seen Japanese Anemones grow large plants within a year, perfectly ready for division.
