Acer pruning
I asked about pruning my acer earlier in the year and the site sages advised me to wait until the sap stops running.
I want to take off one or two small lower branches that are getting in the way. (It's a refugee from a pot that was planted out as it got too big and is doing rather too well.)
Do I prune it after the leaves have fallen, just before they come back or somewhere in between?
In London. Keen but lazy.

Acers bleed during the growing season so you want to time it for when your tree is at its most dormant. So ideally around January - ish
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
