Rock Plants for Steep Rocky Surface

Hi there,

I've joined this Forum hoping that I'll be able to get some help/advice on what plants to acquire to fill a rocky steep surface. It gets reasonable light but not all Day. It is almost like a mini cliff edge. I want to make a feature of it and plant lots of Rock Plants and Alpines but really need advice on what would thrive in this kind of environment. I'll try to post a Photograph if I can work out how to do it. :-) :-) Many thanks for reading and any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Regards

Bob

Have a look at the RHS site and get plenty of ideas. Most garden centres have a rock garden section.

I HAVE LOST TRACK THESE DAYS OF WHO CAN POST PHOTOS WITH WHAT EQUIPMENT. IT USED TO BE IMPOSSIBLE WITH A PHONE. NOW I'M NOT SURE. IF YOU LOOK AT THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE BOX WHERE YOU TYPE A MESSAGE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE A SMALL LINE DRAWING OF WHAT LOOKS LIKE A CAMERA. IF YOU CAN SEE IT ( SOME PEOPLE USED TO BE UNABLE TO SEE IT), CLICK ON THAT AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

BY THE BY, WHAT KIND OF ROCK IS IT? SANDSTONE, LIMESTONE, GRANITE?

If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
