We planted an Escallonia Gold Ellen 2 years ago. It suffered that black spot problem but cutting it right back  seemed to be OK and it grew well but did not flower last year. However it has not flowered again this year. It is in a tub. Could that be the problem I wonder.

    I agree with Verdun but there is also the possibility that you removed the flowering stems when you pruned it.
